Central is pleased to announce our new Executive Chef, Brandon Burleson! Chef Brandon’s cooking style is influenced by the bold flavors from New Orleans to the Caribbean, the availability of fresh gulf seafood, and the traditional southern dishes he grew up to love. He will truly bring a unique twist to the American classics. His innovative creations featuring sustainable seafood and local produce and meats meld together to create Chef Brandon’s signature Gulf Rim flavors.
Born and raised in Georgiana, AL, Brandon is a proud graduate of Auburn University with a degree Hotel & Restaurant Management. He started his culinary career at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center followed by an Executive Sous Chef position at the renowned Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach. While there, Brandon was responsible for overseeing four restaurants and a banquet/conference facility spanning nearly 50,000 square feet. Prior to coming to Central, he returned to Auburn University for the opportunity to once again work alongside his good friend Chef Leonardo Maurelli, III.
Chef Brandon has represented Alabama across the country competing in the National Shrimp Festival Restaurant Challenge and taking home top honors. Following this win, Chef Brandon competed in the World Food Championship held in Las Vegas where he placed in the Top 10 at the World Seafood Championship competing against chefs from over 37 states and 8 different countries. That same year, Brandon was recognized by the Alabama Restaurant and Hospitality Alliance as a Finalist for Chef of the Year. He recently served as guest chef for Auburn University’s International Quality of Life Awards Banquet at the United Nations in New York, NY. We are excited he will now be representing Central Restaurant and Montgomery, AL wherever his next culinary venture takes him.
Chef Brandon is an avid supporter of local farmers, cheese makers, beer makers and artisans. Alongside his passion for cooking, is working with high school and college culinary programs with a goal to not only enhance their culinary skills but also to showcase Alabama as a viable option to live, work and contribute to the ever growing dining scene. We are excited to have Brandon as our Executive Chef and are confident he will continue to elevate the dining experience at Central and become a great addition to the community.
